Season 4 of the early childhood podcast, “No one is coming to save us,†is underway and it’s taking on tough issues, from homelessness to climate change.  Â
Hosted by Lemonada Media and presented by Neighborhood Villages, the podcast is available on Apple, Spotify, and from other streaming services.
Here’s part of the discussion from the climate change episode:
“When we hear the words climate change,
we can easily tend to think about it affecting the far off future,
an issue for our kids’ kids. But here’s the thing,
we are already experiencing the consequences today. Take California.â€
— Gloria Rivera , host of No one is coming to save us
“On top of all of it, we had a really terrible wildfire season. And I remember leaving my house,
and there was ash on the ground as I was walking to my car. And then walking into our hospital,
and the smoke outside was so overwhelming, you could actually smell it inside the neonatal care unit.â€
“Asthma is the most chronic childhood condition. Six million children in this country suffer from asthma,
and we expect the number of asthma cases to get worse with worsening wildfires.â€Â
— Dr. Lisa Patel, a pediatrician and clinical associate professor at Stanford Medicine
