The state budget process for fiscal year 2024 is entering its final stages. A six-member conference committee of legislators is meeting now to negotiate differences between the House and Senate budget proposals. For early education and care, there are millions of dollars at stake.

Click here to email the conference committee and other legislative leaders, and ask them to invest the maximum amount possible in early education and care in the FY24 state budget. [This link is no longer active.]

Your email will go to:

• Senate President Karen E. Spilka
• Senator Michael J. Rodrigues, Chair, Senate Committee on Ways and Means
• Senator Cindy F. Friedman, Vice Chair, Senate Committee on Ways and Means
• Senator Patrick M. O’Connor, Ranking Minority Leader, Senate Committee on Ways and Means
• Speaker of the House Ronald Mariano
• Representative Aaron Michlewitz, Chair, House Committee on Ways and Means
• Representative Ann-Margaret Ferrante, Vice Chair, House Committee on Ways and Means
• Representative Todd M. Smola, Ranking Minority Leader, House Committee on Ways and Means

Though both House and Senate budgets made big investments in early education and care, details vary for specific line items and revenue sources. View Strategies for Children’s budget webpage for a recap.

Your advocacy makes a difference! Please ask our legislators to support the continued sustainability and growth of the early education and care field, which is essential for young children, families, and our state economy.
