We’re happy to welcome two new members to Strategies for Children’s Board of Directors, Felicia Billy and Alan Pisano.
“This is an exciting time,” Board Chair Sally Fuller says. “Felicia and Alan are each bringing their own unique experience, energy, and enthusiasm to the board at a time when Strategies for Children is doing innovative work across the state: from annual budget advocacy to hosting The 9:30 Call and the Advocacy Network to supporting The Early Childhood Agenda.”
Felicia Billy is a human service professional and a member of the first cohort of Strategies’ Advocacy Network. She has 24 years of experience as an early educator, and she is currently the Executive Director for JAMI RRDC, a “Music-based, Montessori-inspired and culturally immersive child care” program.
Billy’s goal is to create impactful early education experiences through a culturally linguistic family-centered approach. She studied early education at Winston Salem State University and Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Springfield College in Human Services, concentrating in Early Education. She will complete her Master of Early Special Education in May 2024 and begin her PhD in Early Childhood Education and Care: Leadership, Policy, and Finance in September 2024.
Alan Pisano is a partner at the financial company PwC where he serves clients in the Asset and Wealth Management sector. Pisano works within PwC’s US Public Policy team where he focuses on regulatory and legislative matters impacting PwC and its clients.
Pisano has also completed a two-year Fellowship with CEO Action for Racial Equity, a business coalition co-founded by PwC that focuses on making a societal impact through public policy. In this capacity, Alan led the research and advocacy efforts for key, business community priorities, including those related to early childhood education in Massachusetts.
Pisano has a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Boston College, a master’s degree in Accounting from Bentley University, and he lives in Needham, Massachusetts with his wife and two sons.
“We are so grateful for Felicia’s and Alan’s commitment to Strategies for Children,” Fuller says. “Creative, strategic, and committed leadership is so important to our work.”
